TORONTO – The 32-year-old driver of a vehicle is facing charges under the Highway Traffic Act after a child in the back seat fell out of a moving vehicle while still strapped in her child seat.

The incident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Toronto police said a car was about to enter the Don Valley Parkway from the Lawrence Avenue East ramp when the child fell out.

According to police, the child seat was not installed correctly.

“The child had been secured within the seat itself. That seat had not been properly secured to the vehicle,” Staff Sgt. Brian Bowman told 680News.

The child was not injured.

The male driver is facing a $240-fine for not securing the toddler.

Police won’t confirm if the man driving was the girl’s father.
